Bathing Ape Women's Spring '11

When I think of BAPE I think all over print and little Japanese like characters on crew necks and jackets. This year, BAPE really showed their originality, still using their theme but taking it to new levels. The women's spring/summer '11 line is absolutely adorable. It is chic, sporty, and overall very fresh. From military printed t shirts to a sailor influence this refreshing line I think will be great.

What Shape Is The Right Shape?

Every woman on this planet has dealt with some issue about their appearance. Whether it's their boobs that aren't big enough or maybe they are too short or too tall. I myself haven't always been the most secure about my body. Feeling that maybe I am "too curvy" or my hair is too big or too wavy. But really why do us women complain? Why is there only ONE certain body type that is considered "sexy." Why is it that a model has to look a certain way and starve themselves to look "perfect". Who ever said that being a twig was perfect anyway?
The point is I always hear girls complaining about the imperfections of their body. Too be honest we can't help what shape we were born with because our shapes are past down from our mamma's.. and our mamma's mamma's.  And instead of complaining why not celebrate? And just because your body isn't identical to Kim's or Natalie Portman's doesn't mean your body isn't just as beautiful.
In the end, I think the sexiest thing a woman can do is be confident about themselves.

Just Ask Gabrielle: BASIC BROADS

 Every time Gabby and I go out we always have the best time. About 75% of the fun comes from laughing at BB's in Columbus. Whether it's us laughing at their hideous outfits or a BB passed out with her booty hanging out in the Taco Bell parking lot at 3 a.m. So I decided to do a mini interview with my girl to see what exactly what a BB is and really go behind this issue.

1. Define what a Basic Broad is:

 A BB is a girl that is comfortable with routine. Afraid to step outside the box, simple and predictable.

 2. What does a BB do? What are her interests?

 A BB goes to college.  Now hollllup hol hol holllldup, never said college was bad but the majority of broads walking around campus are well, BASIC.  A BB's interests...drinks specials at the shitty college drawn bars, stupid events that include the words "college night" and shopping inside the mall to find that perfect simple ass dress for the weekend.

3. What is a BB schedule like? What does she do all day?

School work of course, wouldnt wanna let mommy and daddy down. Getting wasted to the point of taking your shoes off in a bar/club.  #wheretheydothatat, and then wondering out their dorm in the AM with PINK or LOVE stretched across their aweful VS sweatpants and bad flip flops to find food.

4. Where does a BB love to shop? What does she wear during the day?

 The mall.  A BB would cry if they got dropped in a boutique or had to order something offline. I CALL "EM MICROWAVE OUTFITS.  ITS ALL CONNECTED AND READY TO WEAR.  SHITS TRIFE!!!!!!!!!! You'll find a BB in VS sweatpants, flip flops or Uggs an oversized shirt/North face depending on the weather. They don't give 2 Fucks about appearance between the hours of 11am-6pm after that its some skank ass dress from forever 21 and some really bad heels that are probably 2 sizes too big or small.

5. Obviously a BB has some sort of a nightlife. Where does her and her girls go out in Columbus? What would she be wearing?

I will never set a stiletto in Sugar bar ever for this here fact that any girl that is between the ages of 18-21 is in that bar.  They cant dance, they cant handle their alcohol, and sures to hell cant dress. Gateway is the PERFECT spot to BB watch.  I know I went to ugly tuna once and refuse to show my face there ever again.  Anything that is tight, glittery, and aweful is on a BB's.  Forever 21 is a second home to them. They can find a whole damn outfit in that bitch.  Drunk or not these bitches cant walk in heels. 

6. What does her generic dream boy look like? What does he do for hobbies/interests?

They usually meet in school.  College sweethearts.  He sucks, he probably wears affliction and flip flops, maybe even a hemp necklace. He may think hes a surfer or a cage fighter either way hes just a spoiled idiot that has NO fashion sense what so ever. He drinks until he decides to fight someone but really gets his ass handed to him. He thinks he runs shit, and 75% of the time has jelled or spiked hair. He's a complete loss. He works out, eats, and drinks.  He doesn't care about school, he just cares how tight his abs look.

FASHION FACE TV

Every time I go out with the girls, I always do their makeup. The only reason why I even know how to do a basic smokey eye or apply eye lashes or other little tips is because a couple of years ago I discovered the sisters that created the website fashionface.tv ! The two lovely sisters have done hundreds of tutorials from a simple fresh summer look to a Marylin Monroe face. The best part is they take you step by step and show you which products and brushes to use. I have found this website very useful and so fun. Hope you ladies enjoy it as much as I do.

a new year to do new things

Yesterday was the first day of winter quarter and as I was walking to my 8:30 class I was thinking to myself what is my new years resolution? I never really had one I just went with the flow. But with 2010 being a great beginning to success for me I want to make higher goals for myself.


YOGA

 I've always been very active but last year I didn't do so many activities. I used to dance a lot so I want to take up on some yoga to help clear the mind and also working on those great streches. My friend Molly gave me names of places I am going to try out.








PERFECT SCORE

High School I did pretty bad but that was because I never went to my classes. But since I started going to college I've made well over a 3.0 but never a 4.0.. I'm hoping by the end of this year I will get all the A's.







SKILLS IN THE KITCHEN

Being raised from an Italian family I am so embarressed I don't cook very well. Everything my mom makes is so good. I'm hoping this year my mom will pass down the tradition and teach me a thing or two :)














CRAFTING

I've always wanted to get more into crafting. I would love making little hair pieces or any other little crafty things for my girl friends. But I don't know how at all haha. I think I will be a trip to see my girl Joann Fab asap.












SPEND LESS TRAVEL MORE

If you know me well enough you know how much I love to spend my money all the time (especially on shoes). I really want to work on spending less and traveling different cities and countries. This is going to be a huge challenge for me but I think I can make it happen :)

NYE TIPI POWWOW SESH

For NYE Taylor, Suzie, Javan and I decided to hit up Hocking Hills to celebrate the New Year. It was so refreshing to do something out of the ordinary for nye and get away from Columbus for a day. Suzie and I went to the Mega Walmart and bought a bunch of food to cook over the fire, games, booze, and camping tools to survive for the evening. It was so fun cooking and relaxing. The next day we got bob evans and went to the local antique stores and got some really cool shit! I had such a great time starting my new year in a tipi. How you all had a wonderful new year as well.

I can't believe 2010 is already out the door and a new year is starting. I have had such a great year spending it with family and friends, going to a good school, having a great job and other accomplishments I have made in the past year. I wouldn't change one thing about 2010 and I am looking forward to another year of great success with great people in it. <3
